The Tapestries Called Sheldon

Tapestry: Flight into Egypt

Tapestry: Elizabethan Map Oxfordshire

Tapestry: Judith with the head of Holofernes

This site presents new information about the tapestries called 'Sheldon',
small furnishing items woven in the late sixteenth century.

They were named, without firm evidence for their origins, by antiquaries in the early years of the twentieth century.

In the light of new evidence the site asks whether the name is deserved.
